Mobilair Project at the Intternational Congress on Transportation Research 2025, Thessaloniki Greece
The Mobilair Project maintained a multifaceted and impactful presence at the 12th International Congress on Transportation Research (ICTR 2025) held recently in Thessaloniki.
The team actively contributed to critical discussions on smart cities and sustainability by presenting a new scientific research paper titled “Fine-Scale Air Quality Estimation from Coarse Traffic-Based Forecasts: The Case of Thessaloniki.” This presentation showcased the latest findings on how traffic data can be leveraged to create more accurate environmental models, highlighting a core component of the project’s mission to advance urban health and mobility.
Beyond the research presentation, Mobilair Project members engaged deeply with the broader transportation community through key workshops organized by the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT) and CERTH. The team participated in the “Unlocking Mobility Innovation” session, exploring the future of Sustainable Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and the integration of public transport with micromobility.
Additionally, the project was featured in the “Low Emission Zones Workshop,” helping to highlight practical strategies for reducing urban pollution through case studies from Greece and abroad. This participation underscores the project’s ongoing contribution to vital dialogues and its commitment to shaping the future of smart, sustainable cities.
