MOBILAIR Street Event in the NRS Area: Citizens Try the App First-Hand

On 20 June 2026, MOBILAIR took to the streets of western Thessaloniki for a hands-on co-creation event in the NRS area, organised in collaboration with the Municipality of Thessaloniki.

The event brought together local residents for a direct, interactive experience with the MOBILAIR app. Rather than a formal presentation, this was an open, street-level encounter: citizens were invited to explore the app’s features on the spot, tracing their own everyday routes and discovering how real-time air quality data can inform their mobility choices.

The hands-on format was central to the event’s purpose. By engaging directly with the technology in a familiar neighbourhood setting, residents were able to provide immediate, authentic feedback, sharing what they found useful, what they felt was missing, and how the app could better fit into their daily lives. This kind of on-the-ground input is invaluable for the next steps of app development, ensuring that MOBILAIR evolves in response to real user needs rather than assumptions.

The event marks one of two planned focus groups as part of MOBILAIR’s participatory development process, a citizen-centred approach that places the people of Thessaloniki at the heart of the project. We are grateful to everyone who stopped by, tried the app, and shared their thoughts. Your voice shapes what comes next.
